Personal details: I started developing games because » I liked to play something different when I was young, and the only way to get it was inventing and manufacture it myself because there was no money to buy other games. After I did notice people around me liked and played my games I never stopped. My first invented game was » CARDO, when I was 8 years of age My most successful game so far has been » AGILIDADE (three-dimensional Tic-Tac-Toe) In developing games, I am driven and stimulated by » The idea to turn simple rules and mechanisms into a not so simple game, but I was also pressed in 1994 by Niek Neuwahl to do anything with my games, so I started to come to Göttingen and I became a SAZ-member My ideas come from » Myself, mostly out of the blue! Otherwise I am good in inventing and/or developing a game with given materials. I am particularly proud of » My game STRIKE. This complete abstract/strategic game was so positively judged by the master of all game-inventors Alex Randolph that he suggested a new (and in his opinion better) name: FENIX. Teamwork done with other designers » Not so much, but I did work together with Sjaak Griffioen; Martin Samuel; and Niek Neuwahl "Cultural assets of games" means to me » Games are FUN, but at the same time a game can be Educational. Otherwise when a game becomes History it also reflects his time. Recently, I especially enjoyed playing the game » ?? When I play a Game That is the one I like best on that moment. Besides games, my other interests are » Collecting Dutch related Games; Researching Dutch Games and their Inventors; Music -I do play all wind- and brassinstruments and drums/washboard in Old-style-Jazz-Bands all my live- besides making Records (ca 15LP's and ca.10 CD's); I arrange for the Bands; and I am Chairman of the Nederlandse Pianola Vereniging (The Dutch Pianola Society).
